The Clippers lost ground in the standings last night, losing a winnable game in New Orleans. With only 10 games left, it will be very hard to make up the three games needed in order to move into the 2 seed. However, an even bigger issue has come up: they are now tied in the loss column with the Houston Rockets, and could potentially fall behind Houston with a loss tonight.
San Antonio extended it's winning streak to 15 last night, and they're practically guaranteed the 1 seed at this point. On top of that, both the Grizzlies and Suns won last night, making the race in the bottom half of the standings all the more interesting.
The standings going into tonight's games:
Seed | Team | Record | Games Remaining |
1 | San Antonio Spurs | 55-16 | 11 |
2 | Oklahoma City Thunder | 52-19 | 11 |
3 | Los Angeles Clippers | 50-22 | 10 |
4 | Houston Rockets | 48-22 | 12 |
5 | Portland Trail Blazers | 45-27 | 10 |
