Report: Clippers Trade Jared Cunningham to the 76ers

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Clippers are dealing the reserve guard to the Philadelphia 76ers.

A late add in the off-season who had to fight for a roster spot, Jared Cunningham was little-used in his time with the Clippers.  The athletic guard's contract becomes guaranteed today, meaning that the Clippers had three choices: cut him, trade him, or keep him.  It seemed likely that the Clippers weren't going to keep Cunningham in an effort to free a little bit of money and a roster spot for potential future acquisitions, and now we know that instead of cutting him, the team managed to deal him to Philadelphia and get something for him instead.  What that something is, we don't really know, but we should hopefully find out today.

In 89 minutes with the Clippers spread through 19 games, Cunningham scored 85 points.  His best game was an 8 point, 2 rebound, 2 assist performance in 12 minutes against the Timberwolves.

It's always fun to root for exciting, young, fringe NBA players, so good luck to Jared in Philadelphia and hopefully he has a future in the league.
