The Los Angeles Clippers will square off on the road against the Dallas Mavericks this Wednesday in one of the most anticipated games of the season. Since the schedule was released on the heels of that fateful July 8th that brought DeAndre Jordan back to the Clippers, fans across the country have had this one circled on their calendar, as this animosity-filled showdown should have more than enough drama to go around.
The media is well aware of the intrigue surrounding the game and ESPN is the latest outlet to feed off of this offseason's drama. The highlights of their NBA Wednesday promo include, in order, an extended DJ/Chris Paul embrace edited so that an incredulous Cuban looks on, Dirk Nowitzki appearing to wipe a tear from his eye, a crestfallen Chandler Parsons, a DJ/Dirk scuffle from the teams' first meeting, Steve Ballmer with his arms extended to the heavens, and closes on a shot of Cuban looking, well, less than thrilled.
The kicker though, is the Phil Collins soundtrack from "Against All Odds" that should serve as "The Indecision's" theme song from this point forward. It feels borderline impossible not to see a mental montage of Doc, Blake, and the rest of the gang descending on DJ's Houston home to convince him to stay, as you hear:
"Take a good look at me now, ‘cause I'll still be standing here/ And you coming back to me is against all odds/ It's the chance I've got to take"
Watch for yourself and be sure to tune in tomorrow night as DeAndre Jordan and the Clippers enter what is sure to be a hostile American Airlines Center to take on the Mavericks:
