Chris Paul OUT vs Suns, Prigioni to Start

Chris Paul, who has been struggling with a broken finger and strained groin, is a late scratch for tonight's nationally televised game in Phoenix.  The Clippers, who have dropped 3 of their last 4, including a game in Dallas last night, are somewhat desperate for a win as they now sit at 5-3.

J.J. Redick is sidelined with lower back spasms after taking a cheap shot from Zaza Pachulia last night in Dallas, leaving the Clippers without both of their starting guards.  Austin Rivers is expected to start in place of Redick, and Pablo Prigioni should now start in place of Paul.

While missing two of their best three offensive players will severely hurt the Clippers' chances of winning tonight, it will give Doc Rivers a chance to experiment with more creative lineups featuring his new tools on the bench.  In addition to Rivers and Prigioni, Wesley Johnson and Jamal Crawford should both see solid minutes tonight.  Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, who provided a nice defensive spark in 7 minutes against Dallas, could also see time with the second unit.

We will keep you updated on the status of Paul and Redick for their next game, Saturday vs. Detroit.  After Saturday's matinee, the Clippers have four days off before hosting the Golden State Warriors in a nationally televised game next a week from tonight.
