The Clippers announced yesterday that they have assigned second year guard CJ Wilcox and first year forward Brandon Dawson to the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA Development League, per Rowan Kavner of Clippers.com.
Clippers have assigned C.J. Wilcox and Branden Dawson to the D-League's Bakersfield Jam pursuant to the Flexible Assignment System

Both Wilcox and Dawson have not seen the court in the regular season, so this move make some sense. It will give both of them an opportunity to play some meaningful basketball minutes, instead of sitting on the bench in street clothes.
The only concern is that the Bakersfield Jam are affiliated with the Phoenix Suns, so there is absolutely no obligation for them to play the two young players from the Clippers. This is probably not the case, as the two players will definitely jump to the top of the Jam's roster talent wise. This is where having their own D-League affiliate would benefit the Clippers, since they would be able to implement their own playing style. Regardless, this is a great opportunity for Wilcox and Dawson, and hopefully they take full advantage of it.
