Let me be the 10,000th writer to ask, have you seen DeAndre Jordan's numbers???
Seriously, HAVE YOU SEEN HIS NUMBERS?!?!?
The Clippers have played seven games without Blake Griffin, their star forward, the face of the franchise, the last guy announced during lineup introductions. Across those seven games, DeAndre Jordan has scored 20+ points four times -- thank you, Hack-A-DJ. He's grabbed 20+ rebounds twice, and at least 15 boards in each of the last six. He's failed to block two shots just once in that time.
He doesn't turn it over (six in seven games). He plays big minutes (averaging 36.3). He creates turnovers (1.4 steals per game).
And yet, here's my favorite stat: since that fateful February 8th, DeAndre is averaging five more rebounds per game than the next best center. FIVE!
To bring this around to fantasy, particularly daily fantasy, he cracked the astronomical 60-point mark against Dallas and eclipsed the 50-point mark two other times. Not a single player could manage 50 points across 12 NBA games on Wednesday night.
Best of all, DeAndre still hasn't cost $10,000 yet. The daily sites are patiently increasing his price, but he remains a solid value because his production has been so immense.
The DeAndre gravy train should continue. The Bulls look like a tough matchup, what with their twin towers in Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah, but it's not like Tim Duncan or Marc Gasol could stop the Clipper behemoth. Monday's game in Minnesota looks especially tasty. DeAndre looms quite large in comparison to the Wolves' Pekovic-Garnett front line.
Blake is unlikely to be activated for at least a few more games. In his absence, DeAndre is giving you all the points you can buy. He's getting all the pick and roll looks on offense. He's getting fouled, and FanDuel gives you all the points with none of the FT% penalty. Hawes isn't fighting DJ for rebounds because he's spotting up 20 feet away.
DeAndre is a must-play. And he's making us think that this summer, he might be a must-pay.
As always, head over to FanDuel to register and play NBA fantasy games like this one. Pay just $2 and enter a tournament with a prize pool of $10,000.
