This past week for the Clippers started off with a bang, as the Clippers beat the San Antonio Spurs 111 - 109 in game 7 of their first round playoff series in Los Angeles. The Clippers were lead by a 1 legged Chris Paul, who missed most of the 2nd quarter after tweaking his hamstring. He would return hobbled in the 2nd half, and pulled off the miracle, making a game winning circus shot.
After the game, it was announced Paul had strained his hamstring, and would be doubtful for game 1 vs. the Houston Rockets. In fact, CP3 would miss the first 2 games of the series.
Although the Clippers were missing their floor general, and they came out sluggish in game 1 against the Rockets, the came back with some strong play by Blake Griffin and Austin Rivers, and stole game 1 in Houston, 117 - 101. The Clippers seemed to have the swagger after surviving the series against the Spurs, and were able to take the Rockets best punch, and still come out victorious.
Game 2 was a different story. The Clippers were the ones who came out strong, and took a large first half lead. In the second half, the Rockets would gain the momentum, as James Harden was sent to the line late in the 3rd quarter, after sitting out most of it with foul trouble. He hit all 6 of his free throws, and this seemed to unlock his game, as he had a strong final quarter to lead the Rockets to victory, 115 - 109.
And just earlier today, it was announced that Chris Paul would play in the important game 3 versus the Rockets tonight in Los Angeles. Almost everyone knew that there was no way Paul would miss this game unless coach Doc Rivers strapped him down to his chair. Let's hope that his presence will help lead the Clippers to victory tonight!
