NBA Free Agency Update: Could DeAndre Jordan Return After All?

After announcing his departure 5 days ago, it appears hope isn't yet dead.

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

According to pretty much everyone in the NBA media, DeAndre Jordan is now having second thoughts about joining the Dallas Mavericks.  With the free agency moratorium lifting once the clock strikes midnight eastern time tonight, he really couldn't have waited much longer, but we'll take it, I guess.

Doc Rivers, Steve Ballmer, and, reportedly, Chris Paul are heading to Houston to talk their defensive anchor into staying.

It all started at 9:30 with this odd news:

From there, it's spiraled in the last hour:

Is a Jordan return realistic?  It sounds like it, but it's hard to be sure of anything yet.  And forget about unwritten rules--DeAndre is having second thoughts, and the Clippers have an opportunity to get their All-NBA center back, Mark Cuban can screw off.  This is his karma for refusing to do a S&T when it would have helped his team too.

We'll have more on this as it develops.
