Back on December 26th, it was reported that Blake Griffin was going to be out for at least 2 weeks. However, as Blake's second week of absence approaches, it was reported that Blake may very well miss more than just another week.
His next doctor's appoint is late next week, meaning he will likely miss more than another week
Griffin has started shooting free throws, is running on an anti-gravity treadmill and is expected to complete some weight-bearing activities in the next few days.
Though surgery wasn't necessary, it has left the team with (1) more murkiness on recovery and (2) a possible situation where Blake may not be 100% even after returning.
Granted, the Clippers have thankfully been on a 7 game winning streak that includes a perfect 6-0 during Blake's absence. (Blake also probably appreciates the lessened pressure to rush a return.) Chris Paul has returned to tip top Point God shape, Cole Aldrich has provided some great play, and the return of Austin Rivers has spelled some great minutes and scoring (in 3 of his last 4 games). The team's point differential has also climbed notably to 3.4 points now.
But it's not a debate: the Clippers are not as great without Blake Griffin as when they are with him. The team needs him back to truly be a title contender.
