It was bated breath in Clips Nation when Chris Paul left tonight’s game during the third quarter and headed back to the locker room. The mood didn’t improve much when the Clippers announced that Paul was questionable to return with a left hamstring strain, the same injury that has caused the All-Star to miss games in the past.
However, the mood at the post-game press conference was much more optimistic. Doc Rivers described Chris as “day-to-day” in his comments, and Chris Paul said that he hopes to play tomorrow against the Dallas Mavericks. It wasn’t all good news, though: Paul noted that hamstring injuries can be tricky, and sometimes he can feel fine but tweak it with a sudden movement on the court. Doc also added that “you never really know about a hamstring until the next day.”
For now, it’s looking good for a quick recovery, even if Chris rests up tomorrow against the Mavs.
