Doc Rivers confirmed to the media that Chris Paul would play tonight after missing three straight games with a strained left hamstring. J.J. Redick, who missed the last game with a sore left hamstring, has been ruled out for a second straight game tonight.
It probably isn’t surprising that Chris Paul was itching to play tonight, as the Clippers have lost three straight games to sub-par opponents in his absence. Tonight is likely their last chance to get back on track against a relatively weak opponent (New Orleans is 12-21 on the season) before they play a tough back-to-back that features them travelling from James Harden’s Houston Rockets to Russell Westbrook’s Oklahoma City Thunder. That’s two road games against two playoff teams (one that’s currently above LAC in the standings) that feature two MVP frontrunners.
Austin Rivers will likely start in Redick’s place, but we’ll have to wait for the official announcement.
