Now we'll learn in due time if I was right about Frye's fit with the Clippers--his elite-level shooting should space the floor far better than Paul Pierce has in his stint as the starting power forward, and he'll bring that same ability to the bench unit when Griffin returns.
We don't know exactly what the Clippers are sending back yet, but as I pointed out in my last post about Frye, packages would start with either Lance Stephenson or Jamal Crawford AND a minimum-salary deal. From there, more pieces or picks could be added to a deal.
Woj tweets that the potential package would include Stephenson, C.J. Wilcox, and possibly a future second-round pick. That pick could well be the Clippers' second-rounder this year, which will be swapped with Brooklyn's much better pick should the Clippers finish outside of the top 5 in the NBA.
Woj also reports that the team is holding back on the above deal while they probe other options for Lance Stephenson. If Lance is moved in another deal, the Clippers could still close on Frye by replacing Stephenson with Jamal Crawford in the same package with C.J. Wilcox. It's also possible that the other Stephenson deals could be for better options at PF, or that should Stephenson move elsewhere, Doc is unwilling to move Crawford for Stephenson.
We will find out soon enough.
