Clippers rookie Brandon Dawson, was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of spousal abuse, per ESPN. The incident involved Dawson's live-in girlfriend. He was taken into custody around 7:30 am in Playa Vista.
Doc Rivers commented on the arrest (via ESPN.com):
"It's an awful situation,'' Clippers coach Doc Rivers said. "I have a daughter. So, it's a terrible situation, but we'll figure out what we want to do and how we want to handle it."
The arrest happens just months after Clippers star forward, Blake Griffin, broke his hand after getting into a violent conflict with a team trainer. Griffin has not played since, and is looking at returning late March or early April, just before the start of the NBA playoffs.
Dawson, who was the only draft pick by the Clippers, has played in 3 games for the team, while also spending time in the D-League.
