The Los Angeles Clippers on Friday confirmed, officially, that Blake Griffin will not be part of Team USA's quest for gold in 2016's Rio Summer Olympics. Instead, Blake, underwent a bone marrow procedure on April 27th to help his recovery from his left quad tendon injury. Griffin is expected to be ready for the start of the 2016-2017 season and has already begun his rehabilitation process.
While it is disappointing that Blake will not be able to provide highlight reel plays at the international level, while representing the USA, the possible silver lining of this situation is that Blake will hopefully be rested and readied to roar back into the NBA's spotlight when the Clippers tip off.
Until then, let's reminisce over Blake's Olympic dunking:
Get well soon Blake.
