Marble was acquired from the Orlando Magic in a deal for C.J. Wilcox and cash considerations. The Clippers also received a future second-round pick. When all was said and done, Marble was a Clipper for all of an hour and forty-four minutes (three more minutes than Wilcox played in his rookie season). We'll have to see if that's the shortest tenure ever for a Clippers player.
The only reason that the Clippers ever orchestrated this trade was to save money by waiving Marble's fully non-guaranteed salary. By doing this, they were able to move Wilcox's guaranteed contract worth $1.2 million for free, giving them an open roster spot and flexibility to avoid the luxury tax.
