Paul Pierce is planning on returning to the Clippers for the 2016-17 season, his 19th in the NBA, per source.

Paul Pierce was expected back on the Clippers, especially after the way free agency panned out. He will probably play a less prominent role than he did a season ago, as the Clippers have several players in line for minutes ahead of him at the power forward position, and any thought of playing him at small forward is now gone. If Blake Griffin or Brandon Bass gets injured Pierce could be thrust into minutes, but let's hope it doesn't come to that.
Pierce will turn 39 in October, and this will almost certainly be the last season for the Hall of Famer. It would be great if Paul has a more memorable season than he did last year.
Edit: Just five minutes later, however, Turner got different information from another source, so who really knows. Right now all signs point towards Pierce returning, but apparently there is still some indecision, at least among the "sources".
However, another source said Paul Pierce is still weighing everything and will make a final decision in a few weeks.
