Chris Paul will not play in tonight’s game against the Phoenix Suns, Doc Rivers told reporters in his pre-game press conference. The Clippers are waiting until Paul’s troublesome left hamstring is 100% healthy before putting him back out on the court—prompting a question regarding Paul’s health before he took the court in New Orleans last week. Rivers says Paul was 100% healthy last Wednesday, and told reporters on Friday that Chris hadn’t re-aggravated his injury, but has now held him out of three straight games.
Chris is a noted competitor but Rivers said that after the staff spoke with the star point guard, he was on board with taking a cautious approach to his recovery.
Wesley Johnson, who has been struggling with a right ankle sprain, will be active tonight.
