Lou Williams, Wes Johnson Out Against Spurs

The Clippers are down two more crucial players tonight against the Spurs, as Wes Johnson and Lou Williams will both sit the game out

Out of nowhere, Clippers PR announced a few hours ago that both Wes Johnson and Lou Williams are going to miss tonight’s contest against the Spurs. Wes is out with left foot soreness, while Lou Williams has a right ankle sprain.

Neither injury sounds serious, but this leaves the Clippers even more shorthanded against a very good Spurs team on the road. Wes and Lou will join Patrick Beverley, Danilo Gallinari, and Blake Griffin on the sidelines.

In good news, Austin Rivers and Milos Teodosic will both play tonight, but the Clippers lack firepower regardless. It’s possible that Lou and Wes are getting a rest because the game would have been tough to win anyway, but if the Clippers are still trying to make the playoffs, every game matters.

This will shake up the Clippers starting lineup. Austin and Milos will start in the backcourt, and DJ is a lock at center. Jamil Wilson will presumably keep his starting spot at power forward, but who will join him at small forward? My guess is CJ Williams, though Sam Dekker is also a possibility.
