Clippers guard Austin Rivers is questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Charlotte Hornets with a sore right Achilles, according to the team’s December 30th injury report. Rivers suffered the Achilles injury during Friday night’s win over the Los Angeles Lakers, and an MRI Saturday morning was negative, leaving his status day-to-day.
The Clippers have two relatively favorable match-ups in their next two games against the Charlotte Hornets and Memphis Grizzlies, giving them a little bit of a break where they can afford to rest Austin. However, at 15-19 and currently outside of the playoff picture, the Clippers need to take care of business to stay afloat. The last thing they can afford, though, is for Austin to aggravate this Achilles injury and miss extended time. Some caution is probably advisable in this case.
