According to international reporter David Pick, UC Irvine guard Luke Nelson will join the Clippers’ summer league roster. Nelson, a 22-year-old senior, is a 6’3” point guard who averaged 17 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.7 steals last season. He played just 27 minutes a game in only 17 appearances due to injury.
Nelson is originally from Britain and could find himself playing for the senior national team this summer after he concludes Summer League. His European nationality will give him an advantage over American-born players if he is forced to pursue potential playing opportunities in Europe.
