The Los Angeles Clippers will hang on to center DeAndre Jordan for the remainder of the 2018 NBA season, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
Jordan, who can opt out of the final year of his contract and enter free agency, had been the subject of trade talks in recent weeks. The Clippers had been in talks with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks, Portland Trail Blazers, and Washington Wizards.
Jordan and the Clippers are reportedly not close on extension talks, as the Clippers’ front office is trying to maintain long-term flexibility after trading Blake Griffin to the Detroit Pistons last week. Jordan, understandably, would like a long-term, expensive deal.
The Cavaliers and Clippers re-engaged Thursday morning, but Cleveland opted to complete a series of other trades, totally re-vamping their roster around LeBron James.
