According to ESPN’s Chris Haynes, the Clippers will meet with Lakers free agent shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope on July 1st. The 25-year-old primarily plays shooting guard, and last season averaged 13.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 42.6% from the field and 38.3% from deep.

The Clippers likely don’t have much more than the mid-level exception to offer Caldwell-Pope, and he doesn’t exactly fill a major positional need—the Clippers just drafted two guards in the lottery, and recently had to offload 6’5” shooting guard Austin Rivers simply to free up minutes in their guard rotation for their new rookies.
