According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Clippers and Montrezl Harrell have agreed to a two year, $12 million contract. Harrell was a restricted free agent with a qualifying offer of $1.8 million.
Harrell averaged 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist in just 17 minutes per game with the Clippers last year, numbers that would look monstrous if translated to a larger workload. He was also incredibly efficient, shooting the ball at a 63.5% clip and getting to the line 2.9 times a game, where he shot a not-horrible 62.6%.
Trez will slot in nicely as the Clippers’ backup center again next season. However, with Marcin Gortat starting games instead of DeAndre Jordan, he should get more minutes per contest, and will likely close many games as well.
Restricted free agent center Montrezl Harrell has agreed to a two-year, $12M deal to return to the Clippers, agent Drew Rosenhaus tells ESPN.
