TLTJTP: Clippers Continue to Win, Albeit Somewhat Shakily

Rob and Shap discuss the Clippers’ wins over the Magic and Suns, the improved play of Marcin Gortat, and Danilo Gallinari’s All-Star candidacy.

It’s 2019, and if the playoffs started today, the Clippers would have homecourt in Round 1. Not the worst start to the new year, even if the Clippers’ play has left a lot to be desired. The starters continue to come off sluggish to start halves, with the bench trying to pick up the pieces. It’s been hard to be particularly hyped about the team but they’re still chugging along, and even when they fall behind against good teams, they have fought back until the final horn. The team has been recently buoyed by the strong play of Patrick Beverley and (surprise!) Marcin Gortat, while rookie Shai Gilgeous-Alexander slumped a bit before breaking out in a favorable matchup against the Magic. The nature of the West only provides teams with very brief stretches of relief, but the Clips have a nice January. Will they be able to take advantage of it? All this and your twitter questions on the latest episode of the Lob, the Jam, the Podcast!
