Anthony Davis is the biggest name to hit the trade market since.... well, ever. And in a breaking report that just came out, Shams Charania of the Athletic has stated that the Clippers are in an exclusive list of four teams (the others being the Bucks, Lakers, and Knicks) that Davis would be open to re-signing to if traded.
I’m not sure whether the Clippers even have the assets to get Davis - Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jerome Robinson would almost certainly both have to be in the deal - but this news is huge just as a signifier for how respected this new Clippers’ franchise and front office is.
Steve Ballmer, Jerry West, and Lawrence Frank are for real, and Anthony Davis is just the first superstar to acknowledge the possibility of joining the team for real.
Expect more pieces to come as news is updated, but this is a big first step.
Anthony Davis’ representatives have informed the Pelicans that he would sign long-term with the Lakers, Knicks, Bucks and Clippers if he is traded, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA.

Update: Per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Clippers have not made an offer yet for AD. However, I expect the news of his willingness to re-sign to prompt a more active Clippers FO in trading for Davis.
The Los Angeles Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks are among the teams on the new extended Davis list, league sources said. Still, Clippers are another team holding onto cap space and assets for summer free agency. So far, Clippers haven't made an offer on Davis, sources said.
