The Clippers are long out of action, but lots of important NBA things are still happening. Tonight features two events of significance, including a draft lottery that could shape the NBA for the next decade.
The Draft Lottery:
The NBA Draft Lottery will take place at 5:30 PM PT on ESPN, and if it’s similar to previous years, will probably last about 20 minutes. The Clippers are not involved in the lottery, but it’s of huge importance to the entire NBA. Zion Williamson is a once-in-a-generation prospect, and whoever lands the #1 pick in this draft will have a trade chip of immense value. For a team like the Knicks or Lakers, this could be the swing piece in an Anthony Davis deal. For teams like the Suns or Hawks, Zion would be the key piece in a rebuild that could create the next NBA dynasty. Simply put, Zion is a force that has a decent chance to shift the league as a whole, and fans of every team should be tuning in.
Warriors vs. Blazers Game 1:
The first game of the Western Conference Finals will start right after the draft lottery, at 6 PM PT on ESPN. Blazers-Warriors is a series that has taken place twice over the past few years, but this one is a little different. First, it’s the Western Conference Finals — the pressure is turned up even higher. Second, Kevin Durant is injured, and the Warriors are thinner than they have been previously. The Blazers have some momentum as well, and have tons of confidence. All bets are on the Warriors to win once more, especially if Durant returns at an early point in the series, but it’s still one series, and anything can happen. At the very least, it should be a lot of fun.
Well, comment on the lottery and the game below! Hopefully the Warriors get challenged a bit in the WCF.
