Doc Rivers Wins PBWA’s Rudy Tomjanovich Award

The Clippers coach was honored for cooperation with media and fans, and his teams’ excellence on the court.

Doc Rivers has won the Pro Basketball Writers’ Association Rudy Tomjanovich award, which celebrates an NBA coach for his cooperation with the media and fans, as well as his excellence on the court.

The Clippers won 48 games and made the playoffs last season, drastically exceeding expectations. Rivers was also named a finalist for the NBA’s Coach of the Year award, alongside Denver Nuggets coach Mike Malone and Milwaukee Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer.

Rivers previously won the PBWA’s Rudy Tomjanovich award for the 2011-12 season.
