As other NBA teams have released their preseason schedules over previous weeks, Clippers’ fans have waited impatiently for the Clips to announce their own preseason slate. Well, the wait is finally over, as the Clippers’ full five-game contests are now known. They are:
10/3 against Houston Rockets (Honolulu)
10/6 against Shanghai Sharks (Honolulu)
10/10 against Denver Nuggets (Staples Center)
10/13 against Melbourne United (Staples)
10/17 against Dallas Mavericks (Vancouver)
Interestingly, two of the five games are against international competition, and only two of the games will be at the friendly confines of Staples. Hawaiian Clippers fans are in luck, as they should be able to find tickets fairly easily to the Clippers’ first two preseason games. The same goes for Vancouver natives, which must be especially sweet for them after losing their own NBA squad nearly 20 years ago.
For fans based out of LA, this schedule is probably somewhat of a disappointment. While preseason games are meaningless and often feature bench warmers at the expense of stars, it’s still usually a cheap-ish opportunity to see an NBA team. With only two games in LA, there won’t be much of a chance to catch the Clippers before the regular season (and regular season prices) begin.
Still, we are just a month and a half away from Clippers’ basketball making its glorious return. Get excited Clippers’ fans! Every day brings us closer to the much-anticipated 2020 season.
