The NBA preseason tips off tomorrow, just two months after the end of the 2019-20 league year. Last season, the Clippers were prohibitive favorites to win at least the Western Conference, if not the Finals outright. They came up short, but are still among the top contenders for this year’s crown according to the SB Nation community.
Here’s how the fans rank the 30 teams for this upcoming season.
The Clippers slot in at third and second in the West. It may not seem fair to Nuggets fans to be behind a team they beat in the postseason, but the offseason moves seem to tilt the balance in LA’s favor.
The fans also voted on which player will have the biggest impact on his new team this season. No love for Serge Ibaka, but it’s far more surprising to see no votes for Jrue Holiday or Russell Westbrook, among others. The highest-value offseason addition is none other than former Clipper Chris Paul, but the magnitude by which he won this vote is a little startling.
What do you think of this ranking of teams? Which newcomer do you think could also make a splash this year? Let us know.
