The 2021 NBA Draft is scheduled to take place Thursday at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and with that, the start of the 2021-22 season is already here, in a manner of speaking.
The Detroit Pistons have the first overall pick for the first time since 1970, and it seems likely they’ll pick guard Cade Cunningham out of Oklahoma State, but you never know until Adam Silver makes the announcement.
As for the LA Clippers, they are slotted in at No. 25 in the first round and no picks in the second round for the 2021 draft as it stands. But again, we’ll see if they do any wheeling and dealing the night of the draft — they did make some trades on draft night last year, after all.
Will there be draft-night shocks around the NBA? (Yes) Will any of those developments involve the Clippers? (It’s possible) Get your first look at the stars and flops of tomorrow on Thursday, when one of the most fun nights of the NBA calendar is here.
