Thank you, Clips Nation

It’s been fun, but time to move on.

I first joined SB Nation in 2011, and for most of that time, my lane was pretty narrow, covering soccer in Southern California. Last year, I had a new opportunity and with it came new lanes, including a regular spot covering the LA Clippers here at Clips Nation.

I’d followed the NBA since 1988(!) and it’s my first love, but jumping into actually writing about an NBA team on a regular basis was a totally new experience. I loved it.

And now, it’s time for me to say goodbye, at least in terms of pitching in on Clippers coverage.

Moving forward, I’ve got some new responsibilities at SB Nation, mostly behind the scenes, and that means my time writing on the site is coming to an end. It’s been a blast.

Obviously, it’s been pretty easy to cover the Clippers for the past season-plus, especially this past season, as the franchise had their best-ever campaign. I won’t take credit for that, but it was nice to ride the wave, almost all the way to the NBA Finals. Maybe next season.

Many thanks to Blake and especially Sabreena for making a great Clips Nation team and making me feel welcome in covering the Clippers. I won’t give away too much, but we had plenty of lively slack chats wondering about the rotation on a given night, kicking around story ideas, and more. Moving forward, the site will continue to be in Sabreena’s excellent hands.

And obviously, thanks to everyone who’s read my previews, recaps, Clippings, reviews, historic posts or anything else for the past year-plus. I know I was a newbie around here, but the comments were appreciated and hopefully my sheer persistence won most of you over.

Until we meet again...go Clippers!
